Ms. Heather Lange is a Senior Research Scientist and Principal Investigator at Tetramer Technologies, where she leads cutting-edge development work in Metal Organic Framework (MOF) technologies for chemical and biological defense. She is the recipient of the 2025 Joseph D. Weinand NDIA CBRN award for her work in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense. In less than five years of industry experience, Ms. Lange has demonstrated innovation in integrating MOFs into polymeric materials for critical CBRN applications, including protective fabrics, water remediation, and Xe/Kr separations. Currently, she is the program lead for Tetramer’s multi-year effort under an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) award from the Joint Science and Technology Office for the Chemical and Biological Defense Program (JSTO CBDP) to develop and optimize a PFAS-free, self-detoxifying fabric for chemical and biological protective suits. This work directly supports the Warfighter by aiming to reduce exposure to lethal CBRN threats through advanced materials design and scalable fabrication. Ms. Lange earned her M.S. in Chemistry from Lewis University in 2020, where her graduate research focused on biomimetic, antimicrobial hydrogels for wound care. Building on this foundation in functional materials, she transitioned into industry and has contributed to a range of analytical and materials development efforts. She now focuses on advancing decontamination materials—such as Tetramer’s novel MOF microbeads and is actively pursuing new opportunities to support Warfighter protection and CBRN mission readiness.
